Five Star Doors was established in 1990 by my brother Andrew. The business has an incredible 99% customer retention rate attributed to Andrew exceeding customer expectations. He and his service technicians have developed a reputation for putting the homeowner's best interest ahead of sales. If the door still looks presentable, we can prevent a door or expensive panel replacement by installing a strut. Then we have done our job.
How & Why The Two & Three Piece Strut Came To Be
Twenty-five years ago, I was diagnosed with ALS “Lou Gehrig’s Disease” To keep active, I self-taught myself website design and SEO “search engine organization.” I started helping Andrew in 2013 with his website. We saw an opportunity to help homeowners extend their garage door’s life and set our goals to be at or near the top when people search for struts. We both share the business belief that customer service is an essential function of an online business.

How We Are Different
The three-piece strut kit has been around for several years. It came about because shipping items over 96 inches long added surcharges of $100+. Customers don’t have many options. They can either hire a garage door repair company to install a 16′ or 18′ strut or replace the door panel or door. Or find a local garage door repair company that will sell them a 16 or 18-foot strut for about the same cost as our strut kit.
Our strut packages are slightly modified to make them more cost-effective for shipping. By using 20 gauge struts for the connector, it exceeds a one-piece 16-foot strut in overall performance. We feel we have the best residential strut available to homeowners across America based on price and quality.
